Iron Heroes Campaign Notes Are Up
This week I created the first, of several pages about my Iron Heroes campaign, The Throne Of The Demon King. This page covers an overview of the campaign setting and a list of the PC’s in the Game. I will from time to time, add some additional pages with additional information about the campaign world. I am very proud of this game, the way I have been running it, and the players who are playing in it. This campaign has topped my List of Best Campaigns that I have ever run. So please take a read of the page, and I hope you enjoy it as much as me and my players have had creating it.

Another busy weekend for me. We finally got to paint my Son’s new bedroom, and Mrs. DNAphil and I celebrated our wedding anniversary. On Sunday, I ran my Iron Heroes game. This session marked the second anniversary of my game, which makes this campaign the longest running campaign I have ever run. To celebrate the occasion, my Wife (who is my GM sounding board) baked a cake.

From Left to Right: Spenser (playing Kelven), Dr. J (playing Arion), Sargon (playing Severis), and yours truly.
This week’s posts are going to focus on my Iron Heroes game. On Wednesday, I will post a page about my Iron Heroes campaign, with some background information, major characters, etc. I have wanted to include a page about my Iron Heroes game, because it is the major source for where a lot of my current theories and practices about GMing come from. I think that by understanding what I am running, you will have better insight about what I am writing about.
On Friday, I am going to post about GM Recaps, and specifically how I have started doing my recaps in my Iron Heroes. I won’t give anything away, so make sure you read on Friday.

One great inspiration for me as a GM was reading, Amber: Diceless Roleplaying. Of the many things I learned from that book was the concept of using a series of questions to help flesh out the backgrounds of characters before play starts. Since my first reading of the Amber in 1992, I have used the “20 Questions” tool in the opening of nearly all my campaigns. It has provided me a wealth of potential plot hooks and information that have allowed me to tailor my campaigns to the characters. Upon reflection on the questions I have asked in the past, I have found that there are several categories of questions that one should ask in the body of 20 Questions. The categories and some example questions are listed below….
